Project Description
WALL 4 SUDAN – Mural for Sudan is a week-long cultural and solidarity initiative that brings together art, culture, and community dialogue. The project aims to highlight the human and cultural dimensions of Sudan while raising awareness of the suffering of the Sudanese people amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
Background
The initiative seeks to draw attention to the humanitarian situation in Sudan while showcasing the rich cultural diversity, creativity, and resilience of the Sudanese people.
Objectives
- Raise awareness of the humanitarian situation in Sudan.
- Express solidarity with those affected by the war.
- Promote cultural exchange and dialogue between the Sudanese community and Swiss society.
- Contribute to establishing an annual Sudanese Cultural Week in Switzerland.

Project Phases
The project consists of four main phases:
- Preparation and planning.
- Creation of the mural.

The Mural
The mural represents the heart of the project and is being created under the artistic direction of Rahel Lam in collaboration with Cup of Color.
The artwork conveys messages of hope, peace, solidarity, and cultural diversity. It reflects the strength of Sudanese society and its aspirations for a better future.

“Tent for Sudan” – Cultural Week Program
Wednesday, 10 June – Sunday, 14 June 2026
A dedicated exhibition tent will be established to raise awareness about the war and the humanitarian situation in Sudan.
The tent will be decorated with Sudanese flags, patriotic songs, and cultural materials, and will feature a documentary exhibition including more than 50 photographs and awareness posters covering:
✅ Posters highlighting the current humanitarian situation in Sudan.
✅ Documentation of the destruction of public and private property by militias, including hospitals, essential services, and the looting and vandalism of the Sudan National Museum.
✅ Posters featuring headlines from international media reports (including The Guardian and The Wall Street Journal) concerning allegations of the United Arab Emirates’ involvement in supplying weapons to militias.
✅ Daily screenings of documentary films about the war in Sudan and militia-related human rights violations.
✅ Posters documenting the conditions, struggles, and humanitarian needs of Sudanese displaced persons.
✅ Posters and videos presenting humanitarian initiatives and projects implemented by For Sudan Organization, including:
- Medical equipment and supplies.
- Food assistance programs and Ramadan Iftar projects.
✅ Presentation of three humanitarian projects currently seeking support and funding to continue assisting Sudanese communities both inside Sudan and in neighboring countries.
✅ Exhibition of the WALL 4 SUDAN mural by Swiss artist Rahel Lam, featuring a Sudanese woman under the title:
“Sudan in the Heart.”
Open Sudanese Market
Saturday–Sunday, 13–14 June 2026
- Open market featuring Sudanese products and handicrafts.
- Traditional Sudanese food and sweets.
- A space to showcase Sudanese culture through products, crafts, and heritage.
Children’s Program
Women and Children’s Day
Sunday, 14 June 2026
- Participation of the Sudanese Arabic School (Bern) with patriotic songs performed on stage.
- Creative activities for children, including drawing, coloring, and arts and crafts.
- Speeches by the event organizers, Cup of Color, and For Sudan Organization.
- Remarks from guests of honor, supporters, and partners.
- Official unveiling and celebration of the completed mural.

Sustainability
