In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Supporting Sudanese Hospitals with Essential Medical Equipment
For Sudan Organization is pleased to announce the successful completion of the initial phase of its initiative to support Sudanese hospitals with essential medical equipment. The first phase of this initiative began approximately four months ago and represents an important step toward strengthening healthcare services and supporting hospitals facing critical shortages.
The success of this initiative was made possible through the dedicated efforts of members of the organization, who worked closely with Swiss hospitals and relevant institutions both inside and outside Sudan. The initiative also benefited from financial contributions, ongoing coordination, and numerous meetings with partners and stakeholders.
Medical Equipment and Supplies
The first batch of medical equipment was obtained from a Swiss hospital approximately three months ago, followed by additional high-quality and high-value medical devices generously donated by other Swiss hospitals and healthcare institutions.
The equipment received includes:
- Operating-room equipment and machines
- Intensive-care equipment
- Oxygen devices and systems
- ECG machines
- Blood analysis systems
- Ultrasound devices
- Modern operating beds
- Other essential medical equipment and supplies
The estimated total value of the donated equipment is approximately CHF 1.5 million.
All equipment and devices were transported to Sudan in a 40-foot container, representing a significant contribution to strengthening the capacity of Sudanese healthcare facilities.
Our National Organization in Sudan
As part of this initiative, For Sudan Organization is working with its national organization in Sudan, For Sudan Charity, to support the local coordination, reception, distribution, and field-level implementation of the project.
For Sudan Charity plays an important role in working with hospitals, healthcare authorities, local stakeholders, and communities in Sudan to help ensure that the donated equipment is directed to facilities according to identified needs and priorities.
Through its local presence and field capacity, For Sudan Charity supports the practical implementation of the initiative on the ground, including coordination with relevant institutions, facilitating the distribution and deployment of equipment, and following up on its use and impact.
This partnership allows For Sudan Organization to connect international support and donated resources with local healthcare needs through a coordinated and locally informed approach.
Coordination with Sudanese Health Authorities
Throughout the preparation of this initiative, For Sudan Organization maintained communication with the Sudanese Ministry of Health, including during the organization’s delegation visit to Geneva last May.
This coordination was intended to help ensure that the selected equipment responds to the actual needs of Sudanese hospitals and is consistent with the required standards and priorities of the Sudanese healthcare sector.
We are committed to continuing this cooperation with relevant authorities and healthcare institutions to maximize the benefit of the donated equipment and support its effective use.
A Long-Term Commitment
By the grace and mercy of Allah, the medical equipment has now arrived at Port Sudan.
We are preparing to move forward with the next stages of this initiative, which we hope will serve as the foundation for a continuous and long-term program supporting Sudan’s healthcare sector.
Our goal is not only to respond to immediate shortages, but also to build sustainable partnerships between healthcare institutions in Switzerland and Sudan and to contribute to strengthening medical services for communities across the country.
We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to the implementation and success of this important initiative—including our members, partners, donors, supporters, and volunteers.
We also express our deepest appreciation to the Swiss hospitals and healthcare institutions that generously donated medical equipment and supported this humanitarian effort.
May Allah reward everyone who contributed abundantly and bless this initiative with lasting benefit for the people of Sudan.
Together, we continue working to strengthen healthcare and bring hope to the people of Sudan.
